OUR VISION AT LIEDER ELEMENTARY
One of the most critical things any organization, including a school can do is to create and live out it's vision statement. It drives every decision that is made and the climate and culture of the school. At Lieder, our vision is Lieder Leopards are better together!
We believe that collaborative engagement with each other in all aspects of what we do as a school is crucial. We also want to collaborate with you! We know it's been difficult in the past few years as we navigated the pandemic and all of the implications of it. We are thrilled to have multiple events on the calendar throughout the year at different times of the day to welcome you into the building as we partner together for your child's success.
We also are collaborating with our community. So far this year, we have had multiple organizations partner with us to support the incredible work that we do as a campus community. You saw Rodeo Dental and Pool of Life Church at our Meet the Teacher with donations. Rennell Elementary's PTO has also done a drive to supplement instructional supplies that the teacher may need. The H-E-B in our neighborhood has made donations to our science department and always gives donations as they are able throughout the year. Frito-Lay has reached out and will also be supporting us with composition notebooks and other instructional materials. MESA-Outreach has for the third year in a row donated school supply packs for any families that need assistance. We recognize that prices have increased for everything, including school supplies. We appreciate you also providing school supplies for your child and for supporting his or her teacher. With that being said, if your family has a need, please reach out to your child's teacher or our counselor at raven.corpus@cfisd.net as we want to partner with you to support you because we do know that we are better together!
OUR MISSION AT LIEDER ELEMENTARY
Since at Lieder we are better together, we have worked as a team to create our mission statement. A mission describes how we carry out our vision. At Lieder, our mission is the following:
At Lieder we LEAD!
We are Loving
We are Encouraging
We are Accountable
We are Determined
You may hear your student talking about LEAD. This is our mission. We say it every day on the announcements and it is on the wall of every classroom. We have embedded our mission in our positive behavior intervention and support system, called PBIS. We talk about what it looks like and sounds like to LEAD in every location of the school. We will model these qualities for your student and will work to inspire them in your student as well!
LEADER IN ME
- Everyone can be a leader.
- Everyone has genius.
- Change starts with me.
- We will empower students to lead their own learning.
- Educators and families partner together to develop the whole person.
These core beliefs guide everything we do as we deliver quality instruction for students every day. From this mindset, we teach the students the following habits, or research proven behaviors:
- Be Proactive - You're in charge.
- Begin With the End in Mind - Have a plan.
- Put First Things First - Work first, then play.
- Think Win - Win - Everyone can win.
- Seek First to Understand, Then be Understood - Listen before you talk.
- Synergize - Better is together.
- Sharpen the Saw - Balance feels best.
- Find Your Voice and Inspire Others to Find Theirs - Here lies a leader.
We look forward to sharing more of our Leader in Me journey with you. We know that living out these habits lead to incredible results that have been proven time and time again in businesses, life and schools and we believe that living out these habits will create highly effective students and adults who are leaders in our school and community.
TITLE 1 SCHOOL FUNDING
Since Title 1 funds are federal funds, there are certain things that we cannot purchase with these funds. We use these funds to provide snacks at certain family events, but we are not allowed to provide meals. We also cannot use these funds to purchase playground equipment. We enjoy being able to share our playground with the community in the evenings, weekends and when school is not in session and will be working with you and our community partners to make sure our school grounds are beautiful and kept in the best working order for everyone to enjoy. It is one of our goals this year and in the coming years to purchase additional playground equipment for our students and the community.
