Mrs. Gorman's 4th Grade News
Week of February 21, 2017
MATH
This week, the scholars will continue working with fractions. They will use benchmark fractions like 0, 1/2, and 1 to compare 2 fractions. They will also determine their relationship to 1/2 in order to place fractions on a number line. This week, we will also be taking the mid-module assessment. These assessments are very challenging, so we will complete them in small pieces. In addition, the mid-module assessment will be combined with a teacher-made assessment. After these assessments have been graded, please let me know if you would like to take a look at them. They will be not be sent home.
SCIENCE
This week, we will continue learning about phases of the moon. The scholars will complete a moon journal and make observations about how the moon changes over the course of a month. While out at night, it would be great if you could have your scholar take a look at the moon and tell you what they see.
