In Case You Missed It:
We had some wonderful student speakers at the AVID Family Night on Thursday. I was very proud of them and thankful that Shane Long gave each the opportunity and guidance to speak in front of a large, diverse audience. The attendance was phenomenal, as families across the district want to learn more about how AVID can help to prepare their children for college and careers. Thank you to Kim Stuart and Cynthia Wicker for coming out to be a friendly face in the audience for our children.
A big shout out goes to our elective teachers for giving a student satisfaction survey during their classes last week. I also appreciate every staff member which gave us feedback on the staff satisfaction survey. We will utilize and share data in our UnMeeting on Monday.
Thank you to our Culture Committee for planning our Pep Rally and the following staff for participating in the student/staff basketball game: Andrea Streb, Coach DJ, Kris Jaggers, Tommy Harrington, Ashley Inman, Nick Baker, Josh Schneider, and Ja'Maul Johnson. A high five goes out to our emcee, Christina Reed. Don't forget to let Ja'Maul know if you want to participate in the after school students vs. staff/parents game or Christina if you want to be a cheerleader. I think it is going to be a lot of fun!
Stallions got game!
