SPECIAL EDITION: FRIDAY UPDATE
As We Move Forward:
What a week it has been!
The Chromebook pick-up was a huge success! Thank you! There is information below in case you need any help with your chromebook moving forward.
As the district and as our staff continue to work together to provide the best learning opportunity for your children, please know we truly appreciate the challenge our parents and families are facing. We are here to help.
As teachers reach out to parents by phone, please know that when you receive a call from a teacher or staff member it will have a 'block i.d.' Please answer the calls. Hopefully most conference calls will be arranged via email at a given time; however, some may not. Please a take these calls.
We hope you are all doing well. As we wrap up our first week of Remote Learning we know there are questions. We are here for you. We are just an email away.
A special thank you to Mrs. Kraman, our music teacher for sharing an opportunity to enjoy music with Plano Symphony each Saturday evening from our homes. Please see the information below.
We, our teachers and staff, our children and parents, and our district are 'All-In'.

ACCESSING WEBSITES
How to Support Digital Learning from Home
How will I support my student’s learning and instruction from home during the closure?
- Plano ISD provides many digital tools to support in-class learning, and our students will have access to these resources which are aligned to their classes through the PISD Webdesk and the student digital backpack. Directions to access these resources from home can be found HERE.
- Set aside time each day during the school closure for practice, extension and enrichment utilizing provided resources.
- Choose something to read with your student, or provide time for self-selected reading every day.
- More information will be shared in the future to support student learning in the event that the school closure lasts beyond April 3.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES
Family and Community Resources:
This week we launched a Family Resource page on the district’s website. This page provides a searchable list that families, community members and school staff can utilize to help find community resources in order to meet a family’s needs. The list is searchable by agency name, zip code and category. Categories include such areas as basic needs (food assistance, housing assistance), health care (medical, dental, vision), and mental health (substance abuse, counseling, etc.).
The family resource page can be found at https://www.pisd.edu/familyresources
