Early College High School News
Overview
The Early College High School program at Austin High School includes three options. Students can earn an associate degree in general studies from Ivy Tech via our Academy program, the Statewide Transfer General Education Core (STGEC), or technical certificates of 15+ dual credit hours.

ECHS Parent Information Night
On Tuesday, March 6th we held our ECHS Parent Information Night to present an overview of our early college options, share course information, and answer questions. Approximately 60 parents, students, and family members attended this informational session. If you were unable to attend, but would like to learn about our ECHS program, please contact Mrs. Hammons via phone (812) 794-8738 or via email (keri.hammons@scsd1.com)
Changes for the 2018-2019 School Year
Ivy Tech recently notified us that they are removing a class from the requirements to earn an associate degree in general studies. In response to this change, we are discussing various options for incoming juniors in the fall. Our current plan is to coordinate internship-type experiences for the juniors. We will share more details regarding this update as we finalize our plans.
Class of 2018 Data
Austin HS has 22 students on track to earn an associate degree in May 2018.
We have 1 student who is working toward the STGEC.
2 of our seniors are completing programs at Prosser that will result in 15+ dual credits.
In addition, 7 seniors will have 15+ dual credits in welding by the end of this semester.
That's a total of 33.7% of our seniors who are part of ECHS!
