Amherst Marching Comets Band Boosters

It's 2022-23 Marching Band Season!

Welcome Band Families!

Amherst Band Boosters is a volunteer-based organization composed of parents, guardians, and families that support the Amherst Marching Comets. The Boosters are a vital part of the Marching Band's success. Members organize fundraisers that financially support the majority of the band's needs and chaperone their activities.


The Marching Band's ability to function and succeed depends on the Band Boosters and the Boosters depend on you! Opportunities to get involved are listed below, along with contact information. The more help we have the lighter everyone's load is. Thank you for all you do!

New Member Orientation

For all new members & their parents

When: Tuesday, June 28th at 6 PM

Where: Steele Band Room

All new members and their parents/guardians are asked to attend our new member orientation.

The meeting covers important information on general band rules, expectations, and tips to survive band camp.

June's Booster Meeting follows orientation at 7:30 PM

All parents/guardians are welcome to stay.

Summer Car Wash!

Fundraiser at Tuffy

All Band Members are asked to attend at least one car wash. The money raised helps to purchase the senior banners that hang on the stadium bleachers and to fund our extra band camp activities.


If a student can not attend their assigned car wash, please have them attend another one. Attendance will be taken and members who are unable to attend at least one car wash will be assigned meal clean-up duties during band camp week.

Drum Majors should attend each.

Final Forms

Please make sure your student's Final Forms are completed before their first summer practice. Drummers July 24th.

Full Band July 31st before 1PM practice.

Members were given an instruction sheet with their welcome packet. It is also available in pdf form through the Booster group on the band app. Link below if you haven't joined yet.

Band App

The Band Boosters created a group in Band App to help keep parents organized and informed. It is simple to join and all information is private.


The app includes a calendar of events, pdf copies of paperwork students are given, the option to chat with other parents, and share photos.

Band Camp Snacks

Meals are provided during 3-a-day band camp but our kids love a good dessert! We ask for members to bring in a dessert once to help keep costs down and add variety.

12-24 servings provides enough for everyone when everyone participates.

Fresh fruit, sweets, your choice, but please make sure it's an easy "grab n go" item that's ready to serve. Bananas, cuties/oranges, baggies of grapes, yogurt-covered pretzels, or cookies and cupcakes are all great options. We do not have the means to cut up and serve things like whole cakes or watermelons. Desserts can be dropped off in the band lobby the morning they are needed. H2O makes the comets go!

Each football game and competition show the Boosters like to be able to provide all of the band members with bottles of water. This is only possible if we each donate a case of water.


Cases of water can be dropped off any day of band camp in the band room. You are also welcome to bring them to the New Member Orientation if that's easier for you. If you have any questions, please email band_boosters@amherstk12.org

Open Executive Board Positions: Vice President

The Vice President collaborates with the President, Kerri Kobylka, to ensure the needs of the Band Boosters are met. This person works in tandem with the President and must be able to assist and collaborate well with them.
