August Parent Newsletter
Welcome to the 23-24 School Year. We are excited to have our students back at school. Parent Newsletters will go out monthly with information about the exciting things going on in our building. We'd like you to get to know our JHS Administration. Feel free to reach out to our team, by calling the main office at: (573)243-9513 if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year. We want your child to have a positive learning experience.

School Meals
We ask that outside food not be brought in or delivered to school. At the High School, students are able to get breakfast before school starting at 7:30 AM. Second chance breakfast is offered between the first two periods each day to allow students to get breakfast if they missed it before school. We have four lunch shifts.
Parents may apply for Free or Reduced lunches by filling out the application through School Cafe.
School Dances
We will have four dances at the High School.
Homecoming: Saturday, September 30, 7-10 PM in the HS Event Center. This is a semi-formal dance for all Jackson High School Students. Due to the volume of students in attendance, we DO NOT allow guests from other schools for this dance only.
Silver Arrow: Saturday, November 4, 7-10 PM in the HS Event Center. This is a formal dance for all Jackson High School Students. Students are allowed to bring one guest. They will need to have their guest complete the Guest Permission form and submit it to the JHS office.
Barn-Warming Dance: November 17, 6:30-8:30 PM in the HS Old Gymnasium. This is a casual dance for all Jackson High School students.
Prom: Saturday, May 4, 7-10 PM in the HS Event Center. This is a formal dance for Juniors and Seniors only. Students are allowed to bring one guest. They will need to have their guest complete the Guest Permission form and submit it to the JHS office.
Students must be in good standing to attend dances. Students failing two or more classes will be placed on Admin Probation and will not be allowed to attend school dances or events. Students that have been suspended out of school for discipline reasons may not be allowed to attend school sponsored dances and events.
Visitor Policy
We try to limit the number of visitors in the building.
ALL visitors must check in at the main office.
If you need to sign your student out, you may call the attendance office at (573) 243-9513 to arrange this and avoid the need to enter the building.
Student ID Badges
To increase safety measures, all students, staff, and visitors must wear an ID badge inside the building. ID badges should be worn either on a lanyard around the neck or clipped to the front of the shirt. IDs were distributed this week. If your child did not receive one, they can obtain one from the main office. If a student forgets their ID at home, a temporary ID can be acquired from the attendance office. Students are expected to bring their ID daily. Students who repeatedly forget their ID or refuse to wear it correctly may face disciplinary actions. If your child needs a lanyard or clip, these can be obtained from the main office.
