Earth Day School Grounds Cleanup
Saturday, April 22nd from 9:00-11:00 we're looking for as many hands as we can get to help clean up the areas around the school. Some local business owners and area residents have already volunteered to help us out.
Bring your gloves and a water bottle!

Pearson Math Training for K, 1st, 2nd and 4th
K, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade teachers

2nd grade classroom (Unit 7, 2.1) in the AM on Tuesday and then a 4th grade classroom (Unit 6, 3.2) in the PM.
K (Unit 8, 1.1 The math focus points are- Finding the result after 1,2, or 3 is subtracted from a set of up to 10, Using numbers, and subtracting notation, to record, and interpreting subtraction notation.) in the AM In Badyrka's and then a 1st grade classroom (Unit 8, 1.1) in the PM.
Lesson Study Session Agenda
Morning Session:
Activity 1) – Planning of Lesson with group—45 min.-1 hour (9:00-9:45)
I. Introductions
II. Overview of lesson study session process
III. Norms
IV. Use Focus lesson document to study the lesson as a group
V. Identify focus area/s for the observation
VI. Demonstration of how to use the raw/cooked notes format
Activity 2) – Lesson Implementation—40 minutes (9:45-10:30)
I. Teachers take raw notes and collect data on identified area/s of focus
Activity 3) – Debrief lesson with group to analyse teaching and learning and identify next steps. 45 minutes to 1 hour (10:30-11:30)
I. Teachers take 5 minutes to cook notes silently
II. Round robin sharing of cooked notes related to focus area identified in the planning session, this is charted
III. Participants think about their own class profile and determine adjustments they would make based on classroom data, small group discussion and observed lesson.
Classroom teachers will have the opportunity to ask additional questions of the Pearson consultant regarding print/digital curriculum resources.
Pearson consultant will need a 1-hour lunch break between the A.M. and P.M. sessions.
P.M. Sessions will follow the same agenda as the morning sessions.

Investigation 3 Product Activation Training
Please mark your calendars for an Investigation 3 Product Activation training scheduled for June 20th. Stipends are included for your time.
- 1st and 2nd grade product activation is scheduled from 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
- 4th and 5th grade product activation is scheduled from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
New teacher and student resources were ordered last week for grades K-5 and will be delivered to your building within the next month. You will want to bring your new teacher guide to the training on June 20th.

- On Collaboration or SIP/Staff Meetings the teacher workday is 7:50 - 3:45.
- 1-Hour Professional Development Days are from 7:40-8:40.

Office Protocol for Classroom Assistance
Classroom Behavior Emergency:
Follow these steps if a teacher contacts the office for support with a student due to a Behavior Issue where student/staff safety is compromised:
Step 1: Contact either the Principal, Dean of Students or Office Parapro
Step 2: Make an "All Call" on the PA if no response
"Staff -- Please excuse the interruption but assistance is needed in _______ room. Please respond to _______ room if you are able."
