Mix It Up At Lunch!
Mix It Up At Lunch!
On Thursday, November 12, 2015, Brookside School students participated in Mix It Up Day!
Mix It Up Day is a nationally recognized day sponsored by Teaching Tolerance that promotes making new friends by changing lunch table assignments and talking with someone new.
This year’s theme at Brookside School was “Making the World a Better Place.” Students were randomly given a card with a continent pictured on it. The continent cards corresponded to a lunch table that were transformed into one of the seven continents. Principals Assistant Leaders (PAL's) facilitated students being seated and drumming up conversations at each table.
Students in Grades K and 1 remained at their usual tables and were encouraged to talk with a new friend. Students in Grades 2 – 5 were seated with their grade but not necessarily at their assigned homeroom table.
It was a fun filled and rewarding experience for all of Brookside School.
Special thank you to Mrs. Massaro, and Mr. Goldman (PAL's Coordinators) for spearheading this wonderful event!
