PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
As a school and a district we are always reflecting on our current practices to see where we can improve. As a school we have decided to keep the main doors locked through dismissal time. If you are coming to pick up your child at the end of the day, please buzz in and office personnel will let you in. This allows us to see who is coming in and when at all times. The end of the day can be busy and we are trying to be as secure as we can for the safety of everyone in the building. We appreciate how everyone has adjusted to our change.
At Monday's School Board meeting they decided that due to the number of snow days that we have had this year we will be extending our last day from an early release to a full day of school. That means that Abrams will dismiss students on the last day of school, June 5th at 2:55 PM. If we were to have another snow day, early release or late start, we would extend the year to June 6th. Let's all cross our fingers that the spring weather is here to stay!
Parent/Teacher conferences should be wrapping up. If you didn't get a chance to talk to your child's teacher, please reach out to see how things are going. Remember we work with you to educate your child. Teamwork and communication are key to everyone's success!
As always, please contact me with any questions or concerns you have regarding your child. Mrs. Michalski

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT ABRAMS?
Notes from the Office
All Arts Day: On Thursday, April 19th, 2018 we will once again be presenting the “traditional” All Arts Day program where parent and community volunteers share their artistic talents with our students. It is a chance for students to see that art is all around them in a variety of forms. But to make it work, we need your help. Could you teach a small group of students how to take a good photograph? Scrapbook? Tie a fishing lure? Decorate a cake? Dance a polka? Make play-dough? The possibilities are endless, but we need about 25 volunteers to make the day work. Interested in being a presenter? Please contact the office (826-5819) for more information or to volunteer. Thanks.
Open Enrollment: This year’s Open Enrollment application period will take place between February 5th and April 30th. The Wisconsin Open Enrollment program allows children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they live. Early and late applications will not be accepted. Parents may apply online at https://dpi.wi.gov/oe If you do not have access to a computer, call or stop in at the district office.
If your child is currently attending under Open Enrollment, it is not necessary to complete an application form; your child will remain an active student through 12th grade.
Bus Drivers: The Oconto Falls School District is in need of bus drivers for regular routes and bus drivers for sporting events. Contact Kay Oninski at the Bus Garage (848-4460).
