Websites to check out

Padlet - an online site for students to collaborate in real time. No need to to register, login or signup. A great way for students to brainstorm as a class or in small groups in all KLAs.

How big really? - Type in a postcode to find out the area affected if a Chernobyl type disaster happened. Great for science, social science and maths

Sites to find images under Creative Commons license - Tools and resources for your students to learn about copyright and creative commons, including a list of search engines where you and your students can find images that you can use while respecting the intellectual property rights of creators. Great for all KLAs.

Apps of the week

Apps gone free - iPad app that keeps you up-to-date on the latest free apps. Instead of going through the app store yourself looking for free apps to try, let Apps Gone Free this for you.

Notability - A note taking app that integrates handwriting, PDF annotation, typing and recording. A great way to improve teacher and student productivity in all KLAs.

Essential Skeleton - An iPad app to learn about the anatomy of the skeleton in 3D. Click on each section of the skeleton to show info on a particular bone. You can also add your own notes to each bone. Great app for students and teachers in science and PDHPE.

A day designed for teachers for discover how to get the most out of Google Apps for Education. Held at Gymea Technology High School on April 27. Cost is free but you have to pay $22.19 to cover the cost of catering. Please go through MHS’ processes of applying to attend PL if you wish to attend.
