Celebrate Your Freedom to Read
Banned Books Week celebrates the freedom to read and the importance of the First Amendment. This week reminds Americans not to take our precious democratic freedom for granted. The books on the Banned Books list are books that have been challenged due to word choice, subject matter and / or viewpoints. It does not mean that the books have been banned from libraries.
