Century is hosting their annual Career Day this May and we would love your help! One of the missions of Orland School District 135 is to prepare our students for the future. One way to accomplish this is to introduce our students to different potential career paths that they may pursue. Please consider volunteering to present at this year’s Career Day on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 8:30am to 11:30am. This brief questionnaire will be used to select speakers.
Upcoming Parent Education Series:
During the remainder of the school year parents and staff members have multiple opportunities to participate in free webinars on various topics centered around social-emotional wellness and internet safety. These webinars are not hosted by Orland School District and we do not have the ability to choose the topics or provide technical support; however, we know that these are topics and resources that may be important and helpful for families. Student Safety
It is important that our students recognize that certain comments can be considered threatening and harmful. We understand that our students are still learning how to navigate both their online and in person social world. In many circumstances, students find themselves in trouble for saying things without thinking and explaining that "they were just kidding." We ask that over the course of next week you take some time to talk with your child about the words they are using either in person or online. Thank you for your partnership in keeping Century a safe place!
Culture Board:
We will continue to celebrate our diverse community each month with different recognition on our Culture Board. In October, we're showcasing food.. Please Share pictures, drawings, and/or a written description of food your family enjoys or food that is part of your culture.
Food Service/Lunch:
Please take a few minutes to watch the Food Service video that Quest, our food service provider, has made. Please remember that the lunchroom is cashless, so money needs to be added to your child's Skyward account.
