Grateful Heart
I am grateful for...
...Heather Ehmer who has already proven herself to be a great addition to our staff. In addition to her work in the gym, she's spending time every week helping supervise the students doing the blended IU Prep class.
....Devin Gardner, who is very responsive to staff needs. This week he was very helpful in setting up teacher accounts for printing to the RICOH and Jenn is very grateful for his help!
...Johna Mannen, who has done so much work to get the living materials ordered for our campus. It's been a LOT of work and we greatly appreciate it!
....Samantha, Rion and Johna, who had to participate in a very long parent conference Friday and did so with grace and aplomb.
....the student teachers we have this year, who have come in on Friday just because they want to learn. This week, they came in on Friday and we pressed them into service while the teachers had to be out of the room. Thank you, Rachel and Jennifer!!
....Becca Adams, who has worked very hard to shape the behavior of a challenging student. She's said that it's taken every tool she's ever utilized, but it's working and I'm very grateful!
...Megan Arnold, for continuing to teach her children while in active labor! We prayed Friday that she would be able to finish the day without a delivery in the classroom and that the rest of her labor would be as easy as the first.
....Cindy Felker, for the many hours she put into the Literacy Training for new teachers this past week.

Jeans Monday!
Now that we've done it once, the next time we go a whole week we'll have another Jeans Day!
Student voice
Many of you have already incorporated some student voice into your regular practices, but I will be regularly prodding and highlighting examples to keep it visible for us during the year.
If you try something that works really well, please let me or Jeanette know so that we can share it with others. A google form, a question or an activity that you design that gets more student input are just some of the examples you might share.
Here's a one question google form you can add to your drive (make a copy first, then add to my drive) and send to me when you remember to share something you tried. https://goo.gl/forms/oMldEw8W3IiYyA3g1
Instructional Rounds
I don't yet have the form we will be using, as we're still waiting on it to be sent from Dr. Shiver. We will be focusing on differentiation all year long, so this form is specifically for gathering feedback about differentiation. As soon as I receive it, I'll send it out.
Do what you do...no "dog and pony shows!"
