Gregory Gardens Weekly Bulletin

Week of June 2, 2019

Greetings from Administration

Hey Gators,

Boy last week was busy and filled with oh so many memories. Our week kicked off with Field Day 2019. What an awesome way to end the year. It was hard to tell who was having more fun.... the parents, the kids or the teachers :) Thank you families for coming together so quickly to pull off this long running school tradition. On Wednesday we honored our incredible GGES volunteers with lunch and cake. It was great to chat about the year's successes and show our appreciation for all of your hard work. We truly are better together. Thank you PTA for organizing our High Five celebration. Students from GGES and RSP as well as staff loved the BMX presentation and we especially loved the message about taking care of our bodies, our peers and our world! Friday our 5th graders headed to the pool for a bbq and lots of splashing..... judging by the smiles, kids were having a blast. Friday night's EOY picnic was a great success...who doesn't love face paint, water balloons and tacos! Thanks for coming out!

We have wrapped up all of our state and district testing! WOOHOO- Students have been presenting projects to their peers and everyone is gearing for next year :) Preschoolers have also had a great week. Students worked on numbers, letters and facial expressions. Everyone is getting ready for summer school at Sequoia. School starts Monday June 10.

We are looking forward to a short week full of learning and laughter. Please join us tomorrow between 2:00-4:00pm to celebrate Mrs. Kolano's retirement. All are welcome to attend, so please spread the word. Wednesday is the last day of the 2018-2019 school year. Dismissal times have changed. TK/K- 11:15, 1st-5th- 12pm.

If you would like to park, please find a spot along the bushes or in the church parking lot. Staff parking lots are reserved for school employees.

To keep our campus safe we ask all families to enter campus through our main hallway. Please refrain from using the gate in front of the assessment center or the gate in front of the 4th/5th grade wing.

Extended School Year

Due to our summer roofing project, RSP will not be hosting Extended School Year. All students who are eligible to receive ESY services will attend Sequoia Elementary with Nadia Visaya as the Principal. Stay tuned for more information about dates and transportation.

Drop Off/ Pick Up Procedures

We need your help to reinstate best practices for preschool drop off and pick up. Parents may not park or pull into the bus circle between 8:00am-2:30pm. Parents should park in a designated parking stall and walk their student to the preschool. If your child starts at 8:30 please bring them to the playground gate where your teachers will be waiting to receive them. 10:40 students should come into the pod and enter the playground from the back double doors. Teachers will be there to greet students. At dismissal, please park and walk to meet your child outside the pod at the appropriate time. Thank you for helping us streamline our procedures. We appreciate your flexibility.
