Red Ribbon Week Costume Day
On Monday, October 31st, we will have a costume parade as part of our final day of Red Ribbon Week. Students are invited to wear their Halloween costumes as we parade around the school to “Say Boo! to drugs and bad choices”.
Costume Guidelines: We will still be learning that day so please.....
- no weapons or look-alike weapons
- so scary masks/costumes
- no costumes that would prevent your student from using the bathroom easily.
- no blood or gory costume
Parents are invited to come for the parade which will be held outdoors at 9:40 AM and then for afternoon Kindergarten students only at 1:30 PM.
Parents do not need to sign in at the front office, but instead, are invited to stand around the building lining the sidewalk of the school. Please do not stand on the sidewalk, as that is where the students will be walking during the parade.
Parade route below⬇️

🚨 How Does Pickerington’s Tax Rates Compare to Other Central Ohio Communities?🚨
As you consider the Pickerington Schools bond issue on the Nov. 8 ballot, it is important to note that Pickerington tax rates are among the lowest in the Central Ohio area. The following chart shows the total estimated annual taxes paid for a $300,000 market value home in various communities. It also assumes a gross income of $95,000**; a federally adjusted gross income of $78,300; and $15,000 in annual purchases of local taxable goods and services.
It is also important to note that even if the Pickerington Schools 2.80 mill bond issue on the November 8 ballot passes, tax rates are forecasted to fall by ½ a mill. This will make the new levy ‘feel’ like or be similar to a renewal in that tax rates won’t increase while the community continues its commitment.
You can learn more about the upcoming bond issue here. Information about voting is available at the Vote Ohio website. Absentee and in-person voting is already underway!

THANKSGIVING MEAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE
Local community members are interested in donating Thanksgiving meals to other Pickerington families. This is a confidential donation, neither the names of donors or recipients will be shared. Due to the amount of food in the box, an adult will need to be available to come and pick it up from Pickerington Elementary. The pick up time is to be determined and will be communicated closer to that date.
If you are interested in receiving a Turkey dinner, please contact me at Phone:(614)548-1431 or email kendra_stewart@plsd.us by November 11th.
Please let me know how many family members live in your house so we can make sure the appropriate amount of food is boxed.
