Cruisin' through January
This Week
This week in Room 17, we made mouths with marshmallow teeth, ripped paper to make a stoplight, glued jewels on the letter J, and read several community helper books. We thought about which community helper uses which tools. We took turns taking shapes from a container and matching them in a shape puzzle. We loved exploring our police officer dramatic play with our friends from Room 15!
For P.E., we did an obstacle course which focused on bilateral coordination with mat activities, such as combat crawl, log roll, and the dog walk. The obstacle course helped us practice waiting our turn and sequencing three parts. After that, we imitated song motor movements to Wheels on the Bus and If You're Happy and You Know It. During speech sessions, we practiced our grammar by using verbs in sentences (e.g., he is eating, she is drinking, etc.). We played a fun fishing game, where we got to catch fish with a magnetic fishing pole and talk about what he/she was doing in the pictures!
