Thank you!
I'm very proud of the kids performance at Lausannia on April 15. Thank you for being such a wonderful audience and supporting the entire Lower School. I am always overjoyed to see so many parents in the audience. And I'm sure that you made your children feel so special by taking out time from your jobs and busy schedules to cheer them on and to share in the moment.
First & Second Grade Invited to Sing at Graduation
We began a tradition several years ago where some of the Lower School kids are invited to sing at Senior Graduation. The first & second grade students will sing the alma mater, "Chère Lausanne," with members of the senior class. We will learn the song during music class over the next several weeks. Only first & second grade are being asked to participate. The ceremony will be on Sunday, May 29 at 2:00 p.m. The kids should meet me in the LS music room by 1:30pm on May 29. We should be finished singing by 4:00 p.m. If your child is available to attend, please RSVP below.

Chère Lausanne (Lausanne Alma Mater)
Chere Lausanne be thy name ever blest through the years
For the love that thy students bear thee
‘Tis the flower thou didst plant with thy tenderest care
In the garden of heart loaned to thee.
Oh, home of our dreams and inspirer of truth,
May we ever thy mem’ry revere
As we wander afar in life’s pilgrimage long,
We in glorious acclaim to thee sing.
We're in the Coda!
For those non-musicians who might not know, coda means a special ending or final section to a piece of music. The fourth grade kids are in the coda of recorder playing this year working on the last four recorder pieces. They are only required to learn two more for a grade. But if they want to earn a recorder bag, they must pass all remaining four in addition to having already passed the previous five songs for a total of nine.
- Last day to pass the recorder tests is May 25. This deadline cannot be extended since the last day of school is May 27.
- There will be in-class tests dates on May 6, 9 & 10 (days 5, 6 & 7) and also May 20, 24 & 25 (days 1, 3 & 4)
- The kids can also send a video link or come to the music room in the morning before school.
Volunteers 2016-17
There are so many opportunities to show love for Lausanne. We are always in need of parent help and support for various activities and events. Lausanne's parent organization, ArtsLynx, is another way to get involved with the arts on campus. I hope that you will consider signing up any where that help might be needed.
