Anisakiasis (herring worm disease) attach to the wall of the esophagus, intestines, or stomach.

May experience a stinging sensation after or while eating raw or undercooked fish or squid. Meaning you would be sensing the worm move in the mouth or throat. The worms could sometimes be manually removed & prevent the infection. You could also vomit to prevent the infection.

Treatment

May require removal of the worm from body or a endoscopy or maybe surgery

Lifestyle: Once there is free eggs in the ocean, the egg turns into a embryonated egg. It than hatches & turns into a free living larvae. After that it is eaten by an intermediate and paretic host which follows by sea-fish or cephalopods & last reach out to the accidental host, humans.

Signs & Symptoms

- abdominal pain

- diarrhea

- abdominal distension

- blood and mucus in stool

- nausea

- fever (mild)

- vomiting

- allergic reaction with a rash or itching

- anaphylaxis can occur
