RA Interview Season

RA Interview Season always brings a lot of excitement for the next year. Miranda and the recruitment team have put in a lot of hard work to make sure the candidate pool is robust. We cannot complete the process of interviewing candidates without your help! Please make sure you have the following dates on your calendars:

February 7, 2015, 8:30-4:00pm RA Group Process (Floyd Theatre): You are only required to work one shift (8:30am-12pm OR 12pm-3:30pm) for this but we need everyone's help. If you're not sure which shift you've signed up for please make sure to check with your HD or RLC. Check in for the morning session begins at 8:30am, the afternoon session will check in beginning at 11:45am. Once you check in you will have a chance to eat so do not be late.

For the RAs who have not helped facilitate the group process in the past you will be assigned to a room with a HD or RLC and you will be asked to rate candidates on their performance for a task. You will be given rating scales and WAY more information on the day of, so don't sweat the details right now. Just make sure to come in your housing polo, kahki or dress pants, a smile and a great attitude (if you do not have a housing polo please wear business casual attire).

February 16-20, 2015 , Individual Interviews: Once group process is finished and we know which candidates have moved on to the individual interviews your HD or RLC will let you know time slots that the interviews will be taking place. The Grad and Pro-staff are required to have an RA with them for each interview, so please make sure to sign up to help interview as many candidates as you're able to. You will be given specific instructions as the dates get closer. Please make sure to wear business casual attire during these interviews.

RA Interview FAQ (for your residents)

When will I know if I have been selected for an interview? Wednesday, January 28th.

What should I wear? Business casual is best, but make sure to be comfortable and to wear something that you can easily move around in as some of the activities are not stationary (seated).

What can I do to make sure that I'm noticed? Be yourself! We want to see you shine but we also want to see you be authentic.

Who can I talk to if I want to know why I wasn't given an interview? Miranda Scurlock - rlckurz@edrtrust.com

Can my partner/roommate/best friend come with me for moral support? We're glad that you have such supportive people in your life, but unfortunately you must go through this process on your own. The interviews are closed to any person who is not a candidate.

Will I get breakfast/lunch during the interview? No, please plan to eat before or after the interview.

Do I need to bring anything with me? A pen and something to write on never hurts. We will supply all other materials necessary.

What if I can't make the group process? Can I reschedule? Please contact Miranda Scurlock and ask. Her email is rlckurz@edrtrust.com.
