Ms. Janjua's Grades 3-4 Art Class

January 20 - 29, 2016 | Issue 07

Salaamu Alaykum!

We haven't had many art classes the past two weeks, but we've gone through some fundamental practices by working on filling out our Color Wheels! We learned the difference between primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, and how these colors can be combined to make harmonious compositions. We also began studying another Element of Art -- Value, and inshaAllah will be making a painting next week based on what we learn! :) Enjoy photos of our progress below.

Wa Salaamu Alaykum,

Ms. Janjua

Our next project: Value Scales & Paintings

This week we started looking at examples of what Value is -- the lightness or darkness of an object, and how to create value in shades and tints. We studied the work of Canadian Artist Ted Harrison as an example (see below), and starting sketching out our designs on paper. Next week, we begin painting, inshaAllah!
