No School for Students April 1st- 6th
There will be no virtual or in-person class sessions for MMS students April 1st- April 6th.
Virtual and in-person class sessions resume Wednesday, April 7th. Students who have opted into in-person instruction will be on campus 5 days a week. All in-person students should report to campus April 7th. If an in-person student does not attend class on site they will be marked absent for the day, the student will have the opportunity to log into class virtually. A parent will need to send in a note to have the absence changed from unexcused to excused.
All students who opted to remain fully virtual should log into classes on April 7th.
Under Plan A, social distancing will not be possible; however, we will still be following several safety protocols that are required such as entrance screenings, masking, hand washing, disinfecting, and prohibiting large gatherings such as assemblies, etc
MMS Tutoring
Front Office Receptionist
Ms. Beaver, our former receptionist has taken a job in the MGSD Maintenance Department.
Please help us welcome Ms. Troutman.
MAWI Lesson
During one class session the week of April 5th the MMS ELA department will facilitate MAWI Mindset Lesson #1- Grow Your Brain.
MMS is using the MAWI program to facilitate social and emotional lessons that are designed to help students build life-long coping skills.
In Building Expectations
While in the building all students are expected to follow the following school-wide expectations:
- Students must wear a mask covering their nose and mouth while in the building. If a student is not wearing his/her mask correctly the teacher will give the student a warning. If the issue continues we will contact parents.
- Students should not use cellphones during class or while in the hallway. Students are allowed to use their cell phone during SHAC time.
- Students should not wear headphones in the hallway
- Please be sure all students are dressed appropriately for school.
A message from the Mooresville Public Library
On May 18, 2021 at 5:00, the Mooresville Public Library will be hosting a virtual presentation by Young Adult author Pam Withers. Pam is a multi-time award winning author who writes action/adventures stories. For every student who registers for the program, the library will provide a link that will allow students to download a copy of Pam’s book “The Parkour Club”. We also have ebook copies of many of Pam’s other works and I am ordering some of her titles in print. This is an opportunity to “meet” and talk with an award-winning author. Here is a link telling more about the program. To register, please visit our calendar of events at https://mooresvillenc.evanced.info/signup/calendar, select the day of the event and fill out the form, or you can email Ms. Mosher using mmosher@mooresvillenc.gov and the public library will register you.
