Canyon Rim Rolls Out AVID in 6th Grade
Every School Day Counts! Take the October Attendance Challenge!
Take the October Attendance Challenge! All students who are present and on time for the entire month of October, will receive a small prize and recognition. Let's make good attendance a habit!
Parents can reinforce the benefits of regular, on-time school attendance. Please help reinforce the following messages with your child:
- The more you are in school, the more you learn.
- The more you learn, the higher your grades will be.
- The better your grades, the more you will enjoy school.
- The longer you stay in school, the more likely you are to succeed in career and life.
A Message from our Parking Lot Valet Volunteers (aka-The Parking Divas)
- For those of your who walk your children to school, we will be grouping students at the stop sign to ensure they can be safely crossed by the crossing guard (in a group), while also allowing cars to pass through-which helps the traffic flow in the parking lot.
- During Week 1, we saw a 3 minute decrease in parking drop-off wait time during our peak drop off time. That's a 30% reduction!
- There are 2 lanes of traffic as you pass the front of the school. Cars that want to park are encouraged to pass in the left lane and proceed to their parking spot.
- If you are in the left lane, please make a left into center aisle to exit. If you are still in the right lane, continue to the back aisle to exit the parking lot.
- The best tip we can pass on is for families to arrive to school early. Drop off times significantly increase after 7:50 A.M. It is recommended to drop off between 7:40 and 7:45 to experience the least wait.
Some tips specifically for T-K and Kinder Parents:
- We are here to help, but we want all of our students able to self-exit the car on the passenger side with their belongings. Parents-please stay in your car in the drop off lane.
- Students should walk from the car to the gate. If they need assistance to class, they will meet with a student volunteer (in orange vest) at the entrance gate.
Lastly, we are in need of additional volunteers! Join the fun in greeting our wonderful students, and most importantly, keeping them safe. If you would like to commit to 1 morning per week 7:30-8:00 A.M., see Karen Cooper or any of the valet volunteers to sign up.
