Livin it Up on Top- Hadestown
Hadestown won the TONY Award for best musical last night!
Congratulations to our Wendy!
Wendy Heads To Maine
I was fortunate enough to attend Wendy's final concert last week. Up until the last moment Wendy displayed the love and pride in her students she has displayed for 30 years! I am so happy for Wendy and Ted but personally I will miss her friendship and her counsel. Be well my friend- I know you will be happy! Take a listen to the clip below! It will certainly make you smile!

King
King Art Teacher and friend get ready for STEAM night!
I caught Erika working with a students as they decided how to display the artwork for STEAM night at King! Coming June 12!
McCarthy Art
Graffiti
Not to be outdone by all the concerts going on- Erin has a Graffiti Wall on display in her room at McCarthy! It was so much fun to look closely at some of this inspired work!
Barbieri
Concerts times 2!
I spent two evenings at Barbieri this week! Jack led his band students through a very strong band concert and then his string students delighted the audience with their skills. Next year all grade five strings will participate in the All City Orchestra Concert held at FHS under the direction of the talented Nicole. This year the intimacy of this concert at Barbieri was a perfect way to show off the new skills of these dedicated students!
Stapleton
Stapleton Welcomes FHS for a pop up lunchtime performance of Seussical!
An exchange of sorts
FHS, under the direction of Chris Brindley prepared and performed Seussical as a part of the Musical Theatre 2 class. Stapleton, under the direction of Luke Walton sang a song from Seussical at the Kindergarten performance. I was lucky enough to be present for both and decided it was an opportunity not to be missed. The FHS cast performed several numbers during the Stapleton lunch block but best yet- the Kindergarten students joined them on the stage and sang "Oh the Things You Can Think" for the high school students! These are the moments that create memories!
Middle Schools
Walsh
General Music Class
In the midst of all these concerts and art shows it was a pleasure to catch Mary teaching her music class at Walsh. She showed off her drumming technique and also led her students through a physical warm-up! There is no let up on rigor in her class!
John Dassoni gives some playing tests as well!
I also had time to stop in and hear an incredibly talented young musician play her drum set while John was running a few playing tests! Again- rigor and expectations remain high even with just a week left!

Cameron
As always Chris' concert is SRO!
Potter Road Grade Five Visit and a Game of Family Feud!
Teri and her Lit Lab Actors
Teri and her students decided to deliver important information about the transition to Cameron from Potter via a fully realized production of Family Feud. The show was complete with questions. buzzers, dings and Xs! Bravo to Teri and her students for turning what could have been just a powerpoint presentation into an interactive Game Show!
City Wide Orchestra Concert
Nicole takes the stage at FHS
Congratulations are in order to Nicole and Kelsey for an amazing display of our middle school string students. Kelsey opened the show with her McCarthy musicians and to say they set the bar would not be an exaggeration! This is the first year of a string program at McCarthy but you would never have guessed that by the professional and poised performance by these students. An added benefit was that her students then got to hear the combined middle school orchestras conducted by Nicole and the high school orchestra conducted by our own Andy Jasinski! I have been to a lot of concerts this month but this one really rises to the top!
High School
Seussical!
Wilson visits FHS!
Every year the Woodrow Wilson kiddos board a bus (or two) and travel to FHS to see a performance. This year was no exception! Chris and his Musical Theatre Two students prepared, produced and presented a professional level production of Seussical the Musical! Sharing theatre with Wilson is a 17 year old tradition that gets better every year! This "class project" was fully produced and directed! Thanks to Chris, Kyle and Peter for working above and beyond to bring this gift to these kids! The value added was that the choreography for this piece was designed and taught by two seniors of the class of 2019- Jess and Amanda! Although they had graduated the Sunday before the show- here they are- proud artistic contributors to this really well done production! This is Team Framingham at its best!
FHS Art Club
The third and final installment of senior art club/NAHS members special art exhibit of 2018-2019 is up and ready for view at Amazing Things Art Center!
Congratulations to Caroline and her students- the show closes on Tuesday June 11
FHS POPS Concert
Andy and Thaddeus produce a great concert at FHS
I know it is hard to believe that we could fit even one more thing in this week but fit it we did. Andy, Thaddeus, the Jazz Band, Freshmen Band, Concert Band and Choir, along with a few featured student ensembles brought the crowd to their feet at this concert. The music was challenging but accessible and the variety of literature provided something for every audience member!
