The Mustang Minute
May 24, 2019 - Issue 35
DC or Bust
Bright and early (5:45 to be exact) on Tuesday morning, four bus loads of grade 8 students will be heading off to Washington DC. Once there, we will tour monuments of the great men and women that built this country, visit the physical seat of our government, and learn civic responsibility. This is more than just a tourist trip, students will spend time in a variety of locations and museums learning and hopefully developing a sense that it takes all of us working together to make this country great.
If you would like highlights of the trip you can follow me on Twitter (@mfraczek).
I wish everyone a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. To our veterans both with us and gone, I thank you for your service to our country.
Please note that there will not be a Mustang Minute next Friday as I will on a bus heading home from DC.
Summer Reading Class - Grade 8
This summer CMS is pleased to offer a summer reading course for students in grade 8. Ms. Mooney has developed a course designed to help students entering 9th grade complete their summer reading of "The Hobbit". The cost of the course is $125 and follows the summer school schedule and will take place at CMS. If interested in signing up for this course please contact Ms. Mooney (kmooney@norwood.k12.ma.us). We are interested in finding out if there is enough interest for similar courses for the other two books for (incoming) grade 9 and for grades 7 and 8. We need a minimum of 10 students to run each course.
Please fill out the following survey to let us know if these courses are viable for this summer.
