Treatment
There is really nothing you can do to make it go away completely, but you can have a series of surgeries to help make your child feel more confident. And help your child eat and not get infections from the gap in their mouth.
Life Expectancy
The cleft lip its self wont harm your baby, but its the infections that they get from have the gap in their mouth that will harm them. Because fluid will get into their lungs and make them very sick and that could really do them damage.
