Principal's Note
Parents, Families, Guardians:
Did you know attendance matters as early as kindergarten? Studies show many children who miss too many days in kindergarten and first grade can struggle academically in later years. They often have trouble mastering reading by the end of third grade. 4K is a great time to start building a habit of good attendance. Young children with poor attendance in preschool also lose out on valuable learning time and if chronic absence continues into kindergarten, it can pull down academic achievement. Early attendance issues also develop hard to break habits for when students get older. If you are having trouble with attendance, please reach out to Social Worker, Mary Green for ideas to help get back on track!
Save the date!
We have a great family event coming soon in a few weeks. Thursday, February 6th. Dinner (free) will be served from 5-5:30 and activities will be open from 5:30-7:00pm. We hope to see all of you!!
Also, quick reminder -there is no school on Monday, January 27th for teacher development.
Thank you for your support and for choosing Whittier. We are honored to work with your children everyday.
