Parent Chat
Exploring The Reading Sufficiency Act (RSA)
What have you heard?
Parent Chat will explore The Oklahoma Reading Sufficiency Act SB346, a bill that was enacted in 1997, but was amended in 2011-2012. The amendment includes a third grade retention mandate for all third graders who score unsatisfactory on the reading portion of the statewide criterion-referenced test(CRT).
The event is open to all Liberty student parents but designed for the parents of current Kindergarten through 3rd grade since this act directly impacts those students.
What can you expect?
Mrs. Gates, our principal, will present what the law means, the impact it has on our children, the steps the school is taking to help prepare our students. Wendy Hardwick, OKPTA Vice President of Advocacy, will discuss our role as parents and how we can advocate and prepare our children.
