Modern
AA2 Crone Fall 2014 - Carly Carlos
What is Modern?
Modern is the combination of Vaudeville and Ballet, first used as rebellion against the two forms of dance. Modern is open-ended in movement, and often tells a story.
Modern's History
Modern was created somewhere during the beginning of the 1900's. Many people were credited with creating variations of Modern: Loie Fuller, Isadora Duncan, Ruth St. Denis, and Ted Shawn.
Modern's shift occurred in the late 1960's, and 1970's, when Modern became the dance genre we know today.
