CAMP ACADEMICS

GREETINGS

The school days are flying by. We are learning so many different things. Our reading levels are above the middle of the year goal. In math, we are becoming number experts. I am so proud of each student. I am looking forward to an awesome second half of the school year.

READING/WRITING

We will be retelling stories with an emphasis on characters, beginning, middle, and end of stories. We will be reading nonfiction books and responding to them. We will also be writing reviews on nonfiction books. In reading groups, we are concentrating on comprehension. Please take a moment after your child has read to you to ask them questions about what they have read.

MATH

We will start our week taking a district test on the skills that we have learned so far. We are continuing to concentrate on knowing our addition and subtraction facts without hesitation.

SOCIAL STUDIES

We are going to be learning about the life of Ben Franklin. We will learn about the contributions he made and his influence on American society.

SCIENCE

We are talking about air and wind. We will blowing bubbles outside and seeing what happens to them in relation to the air and wind.

PEARLS OF WISDOM

Nothing is impossible, the word itself says " I'm possible"!
