Socrative
I've been using Socrative for years. It's a useful free tool (there is an upgraded paid for version with more features). I have used Socrative for:
- Quick check-ins
- Exit tickets
- Feedback on my class
- Formative assessments
- Reflection questions after an assignment
- Peer feedback.
- "Space race" game.
Socrative also has a library of items that have already been created. You can search their library by subject and by grade level.
It's very easy to create an account and to get started. You can easily create a quick exit ticket on the fly with Socrative.
The Blob Tree
To incorporate sharing, you could create a slide in Nearpod with the tree, and the students anonymously circle where they feel they are on the tree that day. It provides a nice visual as to where your students are emotionally.
AI in Education : The current landscape
A plethora of articles on AI in education can be found on the internet.
I found the following article (43 Examples of AI in Education) to be a great summary of what is currently happening with AI in Education (in all levels) as well as some tools that are making an impact.
Here are some of the examples of AI in Education from the article and that I have seen as well:
- Feedback: Using AI tools can decrease the lag for giving student feedback and also improves consistency as the teacher is using the same tool for feedback for all students.
- Personalization: When a teacher can create content for students more efficiently, it is easier to create personalized experiences for students.
- Tutoring: There are some fabulous tutoring AI tools now for students with chat features, explanations and flash card/ drill activities.
- Improvement in Writing Skills: Students can get feedback on their writing before handing in an assignment.
- Accommodations: Tools that can record lectures, break chapters down into subjects with study guides and create flashcards are game winners for students who might struggle with these tasks.
- Enhanced online discussion: The inclusion of an AI tool can enhance a discussion and ask questions that might inspire and move a conversation in a new direction.
- Enhanced and quicker parent communications: With AI, teachers are able to respond quicker and with more detail.
Using our LG Createboards
You can easily share your screen wirelessly with our new LG Createboards.
HERE is a link to the Topic in my Ed Tech Group with tutorials and links.
I would recommend using the app (which you will have to download) and then you will have touch access on the board as if it were your laptop. Any questions? Let me know!
