News from this week
Dear Parents,
The students really enjoyed watching the solar eclipse on Monday! (see pictures below) What an awesome experience to have at school. I hope that the students remember it for years to come.
We had a busy week this week, with several daily grades. Overall the students did well and are really getting into the tempo of 4th grade. I will be putting grades into the grade book as they come in, so you should be able to start checking the portal to keep up to date with how your child is doing in class. Fourth grade is a big jump from 3rd so please make sure to check your child's Friday Folder every week for all the things coming home and review any papers where they seemed to have difficulty.
We will be having our math test on Place Value and Rounding on Monday. Please have your child practice this weekend if they had difficulty on the study guide. Our next unit will be Multiplication, so please be sure to have your child practice the multiplication facts. There are many online practice games for multiplication. You can find links on my e-class page. It is essential that they know these well in order to do well in this next unit.
Open House for 4th and 5th grade will be held this week on Thursday, August 31 from 6:30-7:30 pm. I look forward to seeing you there!
Our reading program has started and reading logs are due every Monday. Please make sure to sign your child's reading log every week or else it will not be counted. Also, if you decide to submit the reading log online, please send me an email by Monday morning. I do not get a list of online submissions, so I need to get the confirmation of submission from the parents.
If you have not yet signed up for Remind, please make sure to do so. This is a great way for me to easily send out important information about our class, including the class newsletter. You can text the code: @stoffle to the number 81010.
Please make sure if you have to contact me about anything, to send me an email. For some reason, I don't always receive your Remind messages on my phone, so it always best to email to ensure I get your message the same day. mailto: sabine_stoffle@gwinnett.k12.ga.us
Have a great weekend!
