The Energy Bus
What is The Energy Bus?
What is The Energy Bus?
- Dabo Swinney, Head Coach, Clemson University Football Team
At Gertie Belle Rogers we are investing both as a staff and student body into The Energy Bus and The Energy Bus for Schools program. Our objective is to propel our entire building forward by embracing and investing in The Energy Bus philosophy of bringing only positive energy to school each day, keeping a positive attitude, and influencing both our own work here at GBR and others in the best possible way.
The Energy Bus book has "10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work, and Team with Positive Energy" whereas The Energy Bus for Kids has five simplified rules:
1. Create a positive vision
2. Fuel your ride with positive energy
3. No bullies allowed
4. Love your passengers
5. Enjoy the ride!
Both staff and students have been exposed to at least one version of the book. This is all paired with materials through Energy Bus for Schools, created by the Jon Gordon Company (Jon Gordon, author of The Energy Bus).
We hope that your learner "enjoys the ride" and continues to shape their time in our building and beyond in the most positive of ways. How can you help at home?
* Grab a copy of The Energy Bus or The Energy Bus for Kids at your favorite bookseller.
* Continue reading this newsletter and talk to your kids about being positive and having a great attitude both in and outside of school.
* Talk to your learner(s) about creating a positive vision for themselves - for a day, a week, or the school year and then continue asking them: "How's your positive vision?"
* Start a journal (family or student) or YouTube channel for learners to reflect on overcoming challenges and staying positive! Instead of a YouTube channel, learners could simply record themselves without publishing them online.
* Contact Mr. Gubbrud for more ideas!
