Wear Orange for Tucker
To help Dana O'Brien celebrate what should be her son Tucker's 11th birthday, let's all wear orange on Thursday, November 30th. If you didn't hear the story, Tucker was a kind, funny (and sarcastic), athletic boy who is Dana's oldest child. Right before his 9th birthday Tucker was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer, osteosarcoma. Tucker continued to coach his teams, play with his family and friends, and laugh with everyone while in a horrific battle with the beastly cancer that took his right leg and spread to his lungs. Tucker died rather suddenly three days after being put on hospice because cancer had spread to his brain. Tucker died in Dana's arms with his entire family surrounding him on July 2, 2016.
Dana has chosen to remember how Tucker lived by starting a nonprofit organization called, "Team Tucker: Play Laugh Love," three things Tucker did every day of his life. She loves to share pictures and stories of Tucker and his sisters, Kayci and Siera, so feel free to ask or mention his name. Orange has been Tucker's favorite color since he was 18 months old. It was his color during his fight and it is the color of his legacy. Along with his beautiful smile, ice blue eyes, amazing heart and wonderful laugh, it always makes her smile to see orange and think of "her boy." Let's put lots of smiles on her face on Thursday, November 30th.
