Student Spotlight
First graders in Ms. Petras' class have been working so hard on being Great Grizzlies that they earned a Game Day!
Mrs. Schaab's 2nd graders are exploring and applying measurement concepts around their classrooms.
Ms. Hastings and Mrs. Murphy have teamed up to create a buddy reading opportunity for some of the 5th and 1st grade multilingual students. They are having a blast!
2nd Graders have been learning about sound in science. They attended a wonderful presentation from one of our former Great Grizzly Teachers, Denise Gealer. Students enjoyed applying their sound knowledge on pitch and volume as they listened to a wide variety of musical instruments.
The 5th and 6th grade PEN students had the opportunity to meet with Judge Jordan Yeager as a connection to our Law unit. We took away many new ideas and learned much about his life and how the courtroom works and feels. We also got many questions answered and have a much clearer understanding of the laws and logistics of the courtroom. For many of us, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we are grateful for his visit.

It was a big week in Reading Olympics because the students voted to select the logo that will be featured on this year’s Groveland Reading Olympics shirts. All of the entries were creative, and the contest was close. The votes are in, and congratulations goes to Amelia Zola! Thank you to all the students who participated in the contest!

Technology & Innovation
Laptop Breakage
We have seen a rise in the amount of screen breaks for student laptops. Our policy covers for 2 broken screens per device. If your child’s laptop screen breaks 3 times, we will be required to send you an invoice for the repair and labor. The current cost for this is $200. Please remind your child to care for their laptops. Some simple steps to assist are:
- Use two hands when holding or moving the device.
- Use clean hands while using the laptop or iPad.
- Use only the provided digital pen or finger on the screen.
- Use only the power adapter that came with the device.
- Use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen.
- Keep device stored in the provided case. This includes traveling through the hallways, on buses, or anytime the device is not being utilized.
- Make sure nothing is on the keyboard, close the lid, and remove all cables if any are plugged into the laptop. Place laptop in your bag carefully.
- Be careful when placing your case on the floor. Keep the device off the floor so screens do not get stepped on by others.
Parents/Guardians MUST sign the user agreement and pays* the user fee via MyPaymentsPlus (MPP).
Upon submitting the fee and MPP agreement, you are confirming that you have reviewed the information with your child.
