A few reminders...
Hello families! I hope that this newsletter finds you well!
As we approach Monday, February 28th, we will be entering a new phase of adaptation. As Mr. Smith informed you in his newsletters, masking will become a personal choice starting on Monday. At MES, we have been working with students to be inclusive and respectful of student and family choices. Our students know that they will be seeing some people wearing masks and others not wearing masks. We spoke to them about it being a family decision and that we respect the choices of others. We also sent teachers a social story to use with the students that I am attaching for you to use at home as well if you find it to be helpful.
I am so grateful for all of the family support over the last few years as we continually pivot. Thank you for your help and understanding as we venture into new territory and adapt.
As of right now, masks are still required on School Buses, so please be sure to send your child with a mask for their trip to and from school. Also, test kits were distributed yesterday to those who requested them. There is another distribution time on Saturday, 2/26, at the high school. This will take place from 10am-12pm.
If you have any questions, please always feel free to reach out.
Sincerely,
Heather Pellicone
