FAMILY PARTNERSHIP
Back to School Newsletter
OUR MISSION
On behalf of the teachers and staff at Family Partnership Charter School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2015-16 school year! We hope that your summer has gone well and we are looking forward to another year of positive and productive partnerships with you to ensure that all our children achieve their highest potential.
Our sponsor teachers have been busy all summer meeting with new and returning families, helping to develop ILP's and navigate the new Online System (OLS). Our instructional teachers have been preparing for the start of our small group classes at Crosspoint in South Anchorage. High School classes (Monday/Wednesday) start on Monday, August 31st. Elementary and Middle School classes (Tuesday/Thursday) start on Tuesday, September 1st. ON TRACK sessions will also start next week.
(note: No Crosspoint classes on Labor Day, Sept. 7th).
In addition to the new OLS, we are excited about another program wide initiative. In lieu of AIMS Web (the district's RTI screener) Family Partnership will be piloting Measures of Academic Progress (MAP). The results from this assessment will allow us to not only know where each of our students score in relation to others in their cohort and whether or not they meet proficiency targets, the information provided in the reports will help teachers and families set goals for individual student growth and monitor student progress throughout the year.
I am honored to serve as the Principal of Family Partnership Charter School. It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, staff, and students come together to support student academic and social growth.
Again, welcome back! Let's make it another great year.
Sincerely,
Deanne Carroll
