Jane Addams School Updates

Student registration for the 2022-23 school year
Online student registration for the 2022-23 school year is now open. If you have not already started this process for your student(s), please visit our registration page to start this process.
Registration is the first step in getting ready for the up-coming school year. After you register your child online you need to:
Pay student fees. Our student fee webpage outlines the District’s student fee structure and the three ways fees can be paid.
If you have a student that is starting Kindergarten, entering fourth grade, or entering 7th grade, you are required to prove residency in District 15. Our residency webpage outlines the documents you will need to provide to prove residency.
All three steps of the enrollment process must be completed prior to the start of the school year. Students of families that, when required, do not prove residency, will not be able to attend class in a District 15 until the family’s residency is verified.

5Essentials Reminder for Jane Addams Community
Please consider completing the 5Essential Survey for our School. At this point, 5% of our Parents have successfully completed the survey. We want to hear from all families regarding your thoughts in the following areas:
Effective Leaders
Collaborative Teachers
Involved Families
Supportive Environments
Ambitious Instruction
Each school year, teachers, parents, and older students have an opportunity to share their views and perceptions. 5Essentials survey information is a key tool that our school uses to identify and prioritize areas for improvement. As a parent, the 5Essentials survey is an opportunity to share your thoughts.
The 5Essentials Survey will again be administered online. The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete, is anonymous and asks questions about five areas that are related to important student outcomes, including improved attendance and learning.
The survey is managed by the University of Chicago and the school does not have access to your identity or survey responses.
We will be sending you this link in several formats as your participation helps inform our planning and progress.

Thank you!

Jane Addams Kindergarten Nights
We will be hosting two informational evenings for our incoming kindergarten families.
Dual Informational evening is planned for February 17th at 7:00 p.m. This event is open to D15 families. For our neighborhood families, February 10th is also available at 7:00 p.m. for our Kindergarten class at Jane Addams. Our neighborhood families may attend both evenings if they have a child entering kindergarten in the 22-23 school year and would like to learn about both programs.
If you are unable to attend, virtual presentations will be shared after the events.
School Start time February 23, 2022
Beginning on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 District 15 will be moving to a 3-tiered bus system. This will impact the start time of our school. Through much discussion, the decision has been made to adjust the start time at Jane Addams and through D15. Specifically, Jane Addams School will start 35 minutes later than the current start time.
The Transportation Department will be sending out new routing information if your child rides the bus in February. You can also check the student portal at this time for routing information.
