Reading Interventions
at Crossett School District
Catching students before they fall
All students in grades kindergarten thru third grade are screened for reading difficulty multiple times each year using 6 different assessments. If a student scores low in an area, the classroom teacher gives help on that skill. If a student is not making progress over time, then the student is referred to the intervention team and a different plan is made. The student may then receive additional instruction from one of the paraprofessionals, interventionists, or dyslexia therapists. Research has shown that early intervention is key, so our goal is to provide support to the students showing signs of struggle as early as possible.
