CSES Personal Device Reminders
Carderock Springs Elementary - February 15
Dear Carderock Cub Families,
It has come to our attention that students have been using their personal mobile devices (PMDs) during the school day, which is against MCPS Regulation COG-RA. This includes phones, smart watches, iPads, and tablets that they are using to communicate with other students, friends and/or parents. Additionally, it is important that if you have a child with a device that parents regularly check texts, social media, and search histories to ensure that your child's use of the device is appropriate.
Please remind your children that if they bring a device to school that they are responsible for using it appropriately and ensuring that it is used in accordance with MCPS regulation. Personal mobile devices can be brought to school and used before or after school, but must be turned off and out of sight during the school day. This information was shared at Back to School Night and is part of the Carderock Springs Technology Acceptable Use Policy and can also be found below.
PMD Acceptable Use and Regulation
Inappropriate use of Personal Electonics
Students who are not in compliance will follow the progressive discipline as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct. As a school, we offer a reminder for students to put away their devices and to use devices appropriately. If inappropriate use of electronics becomes a repeated pattern, the student's device is secured by staff and parents will be notified to come retrieve the students' device. Students may also no longer be allowed to bring personal mobile devices on site.
