K-2 OES Breakfast Club

On Monday, November 16th, a student from each Kindergarten through 2nd grade classroom were recognized at our Fall Breakfast Club. These students were chosen by their teachers because they continually show their OES Best. John O'Brien, a firefighter, spoke to the students about his job, hard work, and the importance of making good choices. Prepare for Outdoor Recess

Students will be going outside for recess everyday unless it is raining/sleeting/snowing in excess or below 20 degrees with wind chill. As the weather is starting to get colder, please make sure your child has a coat for recess. Students that we feel are not dressed properly will be kept inside. If it is below 50 degrees, students can NOT go outside with only short sleeves.

Third Grade Musical Date Change

The 3rd Grade Musical has been moved to Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 7:00 pm in the high school auditorium. We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause, but hope that everyone can come to watch this wonderful program the 3rd graders have been working so hard on.

An updated letter from Mrs. Rehbein was sent home earlier this week with additional information about costumes and when and where students should meet that night. It is also available HERE

Parent Survey Information

Thank you to those of you who completed our Parent Survey already (either from the link provided here or at Parent Teacher Conferences)! If you have not already completed this survey - please tell us how we are doing!

It is time to collect additional data to determine if the district is meeting needs of our families. Your feedback will help to ensure that we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of the children of the Otsego Local School District. All individual survey responses are confidential. Your feedback will provide valuable information for us as we make decisions for the future. Please take time to complete the survey listed below. Please complete all electronic surveys on or before Friday, December 11th. Results will be shared through this weekly update and will be made available on the website.

Counselors Corner

OSU / Michigan Food Drive

Our annual OSU/Michigan food drive for the Otsego Food Pantry took place this week. OSU was the winning team but overall we collected many, many donations! Thank you to all who donated. The Otsego Food Pantry relies on our donations right before Thanksgiving!

If you are interested in assistance from the Otsego Food Pantry, you can contact them at (419) 832-4214.

Career Cafe

Our first Career Cafe took play last Friday during lunch. The Sheriff's department was our first speaker! While not every student will get to see every speaker, they will get to go at least once throughout the year. Our next Career Cafe is scheduled for Friday, December 11th.

I am still looking for interested individuals who would like to come to our school and share their jobs with our students. If you are interested, please click here to submit your information.

Thank you!

Please help our students by collecting tabs from aluminum cans. Each tab is easy to remove and can be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. The tabs help fund various projects for Ronald McDonald Houses and its visitors. Send the tabs in a bag to the school and our students will do the rest!

You can help the school earn money for supplies by collecting Box Tops and Campbells labels from soup, juices and snacks. Our PTO collects and counts them and puts the money straight back into the school.
