Inlet View' September Newsletter
Welcome to a new month!
Dear Inlet View Parents, guardians, and students,
Thank you for a great start of the school year. All students K-6 are here and Inlet View is now complete. We have a wonderful group of kindys ready to learn and eager to participate in their zoom classes. I'm very proud of all 1st-6th graders who are attending virtual classes and engaging in meaningful discussions with their teachers and peers.
Thank you to all parents, guardians and caregivers for supporting your students with the iReady diagnostic assessment at home. This is an important tool that will help us see where the students are at and what they would need to continue showing progress. Thank you again.
Teachers have a bag of supplies for each of their students. These bags contain: Go Math practice book, Cengage Anthology, other printed materials and/or reading books that your student might need for their work at home. Distribution will be in the CAR LOOP LINE in the front of the school (same procedures we followed in the spring). Please stay in your car; a staff member will greet you and identify the name of the student, then your student bag is delivered to you car. Below are the times for distribution. You can come to any of these distribution times to pick up your materials.
Wednesday, Sept 2 10:00am-12:00pm, 1:00pm-3:00pm, 4:00pm-6:00pm
As the quarter goes on, there may be additional items for your grade level to pick up from the school. We will keep you informed of these times and dates too.
Thank you for your continuous support and here's to a wonderful month at Inlet View.

IB Learner Profile for September: CARING
The IB Learner profile aims to develop students who are caring. Students who are CARING show empathy, compassion and respect towards the needs and feelings of others. They have a personal commitment to service, and act to make a positive difference to the lives of others and to the environment. They remember to treat others how they themselves would like to be treated.
How can parents help to develop students who are Caring at home?
Students who are CARING want people around them to be happy and are sensitive to their needs. They think about the world and work to take care of their community and the environment. They remember to treat others how they themselves would like to be treated. How can parents help to develop students who are Caring at home?
· Role model the caring behavior you would like to see in your child all the time. Your child has big eyes and ears and notices everything you do. Using kind words, helping people without being asked, being an active listener all show your child that you care about people. Even a simple thing, like holding a door for someone, shows your child that you are aware of others around you and want to help them.
· Think about how your family can get involved with community organizations.
· Reduce, Reuse & Recycle. Make the effort to establish these habits in your home. By developing children who care about the environment, you are helping the future of the globe.
· Smile.
· After reading a book, spend some time considering how the people in the book acted. Was someone in the book caring? All of the time or just some of the time? Were all of the characters in the book caring or just some of them?
Please share images of your child demonstrating CARING
