Fine Arts Newsletter
Little Elm ISD - April, 2022
Mission Statement
A quality Fine Arts education is essential to a well-rounded education for every child. Students that participate in the Arts are able to explore their passions and develop the creativity that is vital to every student's growth. Fine Arts teachers in Little Elm ISD are committed to the district's vision to Engage, Equip, and Empower each student to realize their full potential.
Let's promote LEISD Fine Arts on Social Media!
A Note from Mr. Felice
It has been a privilege to watch our students and teachers in every area: Art, Band, Choir, Dance, Music, and Theatre. I am excited about the future of Fine Arts in LEISD! I'm also eager to meet with each department before the summer arrives and plan for our future development and how we can increase opportunities for our students.
There are only four more Mondays in this school year. I hope each of you has a great end to your semester!
Abigail Lease was nominated by Mrs. Melissa Connour, an Art teacher at Little Elm High School. Mrs. Connour had this to say about Abigail:
"Abby is a talented young artist and also a dancer. She is also on the Blue Angels Dance team as well. She comes into class every day, gets to work, and produces amazing artwork. Every assignment is well above and beyond what is expected. While she can be quiet in the classroom, her artwork speaks well beyond her years. She is a mature young lady and I am sure she will do great things after her time at LEHS."
"I would like to nominate senior Violett Ames. She is a four year member and current Captain of the Blue Angels Drill Team. She is also a teaching assistant for my Dance II class. In addition, she is an extremely talented Art student, enrolled in Mrs. Connour's AP Art Drawing class. Violett is an amazing example of a well-rounded, artistically minded student. She excels in her academic courses, but truly has the mind of an artist. You will often find her dancing at her desk or in the mirrors of the dance room.
Violett is an amazing leader for our Drill Team and went undefeated in competition season with her solo! This made her the State Champion solo winner!"
Clint Turner is the Choir Director at Walker Middle School.
Prior to becoming the Choir Director at Walker Middle School, Mr. Turner taught from 2017-2019 at Oak Point Elementary, followed by the 2019-2020 school year at Lakeside Middle School.
Mr. Turner received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the
University of North Texas in 2017. During his time at UNT, Mr. Turner was a
member of the Opera program for 2 years, in which he performed in 7 operas,
including starring as Tobias Ragg in Sweeney Todd in 2015. While at UNT, Mr.
Turner performed in the Concert Choir and University Singers. Mr. Turner has
studied privately under William Joyner and Inci Bashar, and has studied
conducting and education with Dr. Alan McClung, a direct student of choir legend
Robert Shaw.
Mr. Turner loves working in the district he graduated from, and was honored to
serve as the clinician of the 2019-2020 LEISD Elementary Honor Choir. Mr. Turner is continuing to sing outside of school as a tenor in the Dallas Symphony Chorus for the 2021-2022 season.
Clint Turner is married to his Little Elm High School sweetheart, Quynh, and they
have 2 very lazy dogs!
We are very fortunate Mr. Turner chose to teach in Little Elm ISD and we are glad to have him on our Fine Arts Team!

In an effort to provide safety and security for all students in LEISD, the district requires that parent volunteers complete an annual background check, due after July 1st of each year. The application used for the check is called AppGarden. The link is provided below. Should a volunteer need to provide fingerprinting, the district will notify the applicant with instructions on how to complete the background process.
THANK YOU for being willing to volunteer of your free time for the students in Little Elm ISD!
