Big Sky Community Library News
May 2022
Happy May!
Hello Big Sky,
So much is happening and we are excited to start sharing some of it with you. We have been partnering with BASE for storytime for a month now and it is great. We are going to start having 2 storytimes at BASE each week, one on Mondays and one on Fridays (times below). We are also going to have the K-5 summer reading program activities at BASE this summer due to the construction that will be happening at the school near the community library. We are so grateful for the amazing community we live in and the partnerships that we are building within it. BASE has been wonderful and we are excited to continue to work with them.
We are working to make sure the library serves the community and is a resource for everyone. Please complete the survey that is linked below to provide feedback for us as we plan for the future. We want to know what you want and need from us.
It has been a whirlwind two months since I stepped in as library director. Thank you all for your support and words of encouragement. I see the library as a place to build community, foster a love of reading, promote equity and access to information and resources, and just relax. Please stop in and tell me what you think about the library (after you complete the survey of course)!
See you at the library!
Amy
One Book Big Sky in June!
We are excited to have Lisa Hendrickson come to Big Sky to talk about her book, 'Burning the Breeze', on June 14th!
Put the date on your calendars and stop by the library to check out a copy of the book prior to the author's visit.
The book looks at 3 generations of women working hard to make it in Montana.
We would like to give a giant 'Thank you' to Moonlight Community Foundation for their support of this program!
Resort Tax Feedback
To provide feedback to the Resort Tax board:
- Read and review full project applications https://resorttax.org/funding/.
- Share feedback based on the proposed projects.
- Broad-based feedback for organizations does NOT communicate to the District why a project is important and how it meets community needs.
- Share your comment(s) by emailing Info@ResortTax.org or by attending Application Review Meetings in June.
- Please include your name and address when emailing public comment.
Storytime
The Community Library will be providing two storytimes each week starting in May at BASE.

Everyone is welcome!

We will also be at BASE on Friday from 2:30-3:30, so stop by and say hi and ask us any questions you have!
