Digital Storytelling
Glendale-River Hills Summer Academy 2015
Week 2 FUN!
Students worked on projects introduced last week and this week, as well as investigated new apps and websites. Check out the STORIES page on our website to see their creative output! Several new and exciting apps and website were introduced this week.
Google Docs
Google Docs is a great tool for collaboration, as well as for creating our "The Best Part of Me" projects! Students were able to add their picture and text to the Doc and it is automatically saved in their Google Drive!
Notes
Week 2 is all about planning.....well, and learning new apps and websites! As students generate new story ideas, they can add text and/or images to their Notes app.
Telligami
This app allows students to create a 30-second video. Students customized their gami, added an image of their favorite app as the background, then recorded their voice explaining why this is their favorite app.
30Hands
This free app is awesome! Students used this tool to plan a story. Using a drawing app, students sketched out their story (character, setting, conflict and resolution) and then added their thoughts using 30Hands.
QR Stuff website
After exporting their 30Hands videos to the camera roll, students uploaded their creation to their Google Drive. This allowed them to grab the URL and generate a QR code for their video using www.qrstuff.com.
Scholastic's Story Starters website
Scholastic has tons of great resources and this is one of our favorites. Students can randomly generate story ideas. Check it out: http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/story-starters/.
