Christianity
Christianity is a monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as shown in the New Testament. Christianity is the world's largest religion, with about 2.2 billion followers, known as Christians. Most Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, and the savior of humanity prophesied in the Old Testament. These teachings say that Jesus suffered, died, was buried, and was resurrected from the dead in order to grant eternal life to those who believe in him and trust in him for the remission of their sins. The creeds further say that Jesus bodily ascended into heaven, where he reigns with God the Father. Most denominations say that Jesus will return to judge all humans, living and dead, and to grant eternal life to his followers. They follow a holy book called the Bible. Their major holidays include Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Christmas, Easter, and there holy day is Sunday.
Judaism
Judaism is the religion, philosophy and way of life of the Jewish people. Judaism is a monotheistic religion, with its foundational text, the Torah. Judaism is considered by religious Jews to be the expression of the covenantal relationship God established with the Children of Israel. The special holidays include Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret, Simchat Torah, Chanukkah, Purim, Pesach, and Lag B'Omer. Jews consecrate the seventh day of the week, or Shabbat, as the epitome of sacred time. The Jewish calendar is replete with a rich array of festivals, most of which commemorate events in ancient Israelite history.
Buddhism
Buddhism is a religion indigenous to the Indian subcontinent that encompasses a variety of traditions, beliefs and practices largely based on teachings attributed to Siddhartha Gautama, who is known as the Buddha. The Buddha lived and taught in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent sometime between the 6th and 4th centuries BCE. He is recognized by Buddhists as an enlightened teacher who shared his insights to help beings end their suffering through the elimination of ignorance by way of understanding and the seeing of dependent origination and the elimination of desire , and thus the attainment of the cessation of all suffering, known as the sublime state of nirvana. The holy book is the Diamond Sutra. The holidays include Uposala, Makha buncha, etc. They have no god but they worship Buddha. The rituals include Meditation, Mantras, Mudrus, prayer wheels, etc.
Islam
Islam is a monotheistic and Abrahamic religion articulated by the Qur'an, a book considered by its adherents to be the verbatim word of God and by the teachings and normative example of Muhammad, considered by them to be the last prophet of God. A member of Islam is called a Muslim. The two main holidays are Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha. Their rituals include the Five Pillars of Islam are five practices regarded by all sects as essential to the Muslim faith. Other notable Islamic practices include the mystical rituals of Sufism and various distinctive Shi'ite practices.
Hinduism
Hinduism is the dominant religion of the Indian subcontinent, particularly in India and Nepal. It is a polytheistic religion. It includes Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Smartism among numerous other traditions, and a wide variety of laws and prescriptions of daily morality based on karma, dharma, and societal norms. Hinduism is a categorization of distinct intellectual or philosophical points of view, rather than a common set of beliefs. Some of there gods are Ram, Indra, Buddha, Shiva, etc.
