Mutations are a big part of evolution and life. Without mutations, life wouldn't be possible because we wouldn't be able to adapt or to evolve to survive and be more efficient. Mutations are quite frequent, and most of the time have no consequences because they are usually corrected.
Point mutations happen when singular nucleotides are affected.
Mutation where a gene or segment of DNA is affectedin certain ways.
When entire chromosomes are mixed and matched. Some pairs have more or less than the others, etc
