Smartwatches
With the new year, comes new presents that students are bringing to school. We have many students with new smart watches. Please see the student handbook information below: SMART WATCHES AND BLUETOOTH TECHNOLOGIES If Bluetooth technologies become disruptive, students may be required to place them out of sight. Failure to comply will be considered insubordination.
Please note, if a parent is messaging their child during that day or the child is messaging others, that is disruptive to the learning environment. We will ask the student to place in their bookbag if they are found to be messaging during the school day. If you need to contact your child during the day, please call the school office directly at 219-696-9285 and we will gladly assist you.
Cooler Weather Approaching
Also, we do go outside for recess most days that the wind chill is above 10 degrees. On our cooler days, I would highly recommend that students wear jackets and cover their legs and feet for recess and at the bus stops.
If a student forgets his/her coat on cooler days, we will provide one for them if a student requests.

Attendance Incentive
94% attendance rate is students who are present for 169 days out of the 180-day school year calendar. That would be eleven total absences.
In order to work towards improvement, we have created an incentive program. Each class is working to collect all the letters to spell the word “Attendance”. Each time ALL students in a class are at school and on time, the class will earn one letter to spell the word Attendance. Once a class spells the entire word, they will win Free Time in the gym!
Just a reminder, school BEGINS at 8:00 a.m. If a student walks into school at 8, they are considered tardy. Doors open for car riders at 7:30, the gate is up at 7:20. Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m.-8:00 a.m.
Circle the State with Song
On Saturday, February 25 at Hebron High school, some of our Nifty Notes students will be joining Three Creeks and Lake Prairie Nifty Notes selected students for Circle the State with Song event.
Circle The State With Song is an event where students learn the same music across the state and on the same date meet at assigned venues to practice during the day. The conclusion is a concert with all the kids in the region that participated. Each group is roughly 150 students.
The following students will be participating from Oak Hill:
Alanna Leyba
Olivia Rosenwinkel
Adley Sencaj
Claire Sons
Ashleigh Zinn
Thank you to Mrs. Alyson Wright, the Nifty Notes director, for allowing our students to participate.
