Looking for something fun to do this summer?

Can you believe it is already time to enroll for summer camp? As most of you already know, Outdoor Summer Camp Registration started on February 1st. Please know that Indoor Summer Camp Registration will begin Monday, February 22 at noon by downloading the forms from www.jcprdkids.com. As a reminder, all forms will have to be scanned into the Registration Office. The forms cannot be turned into our school sites. Locations for indoor camps has still not been determined as of now. Once we discover this information, I will make sure to email that information out to you. Please take advantage of signing up your children at your earliest convenience to earn a spot in our summer camps. They tend to fill up pretty quickly! If you have any questions regarding summer camps, the activities, etc. please feel free to ask. I would love to assist in any way.

Black History Month

Throughout the month of February we will be discussing important black American figures, their achievements, and how they shaped our society. We will also explore the arts and entertainment and the effects it has on us.

Winter's HERE...

and the possibilities of SNOW DAYS...Winter weather is nipping in the air and good planning is key. Keep in mind that SMSD USD512 JCPRD locations DO NOT offer Snow Day programming, you will need to make other arrangements. Check your local news stations for closures, the SMSD website, call the RSE OST cell number for a closure message at 913.909.1610 and Twiiter that we will update if we are closed. Please note that when there is inclement weather during a school day, JCPRD will remain open until all children have been picked up, our hours remain the same but we do ask to pick up as soon and as safely as possible so that staff can get home as soon and safely as possible. During Spring Break we will remain open for any and all weather.

Kansas Weather

With the temps getting chillier, we ask that your child has the appropriate outdoor attire (appropriate footwear, coat, gloves, hat with NAMES LABELED INSIDE) to wear outside, layers are GREAT, especially for those who prefer the summer wears of shorts, please add a pair of sweats so that they can throw on when heading out and toss off when inside.

School iPads

JCPRD will allow 3rd-6th graders, Monday-Friday, the privilege to work on iPad homework for 30 minutes after their snack time: 4-4:30p. We have discussed expectations with you children; homework sites only, no disturbing others. No music, no taking pictures &/or videos, unless we are doing so for a club (dance, music, community service projects, etc.) We hope that this will be helpful to you and your child(ren).

Bring in Your ID

Please have your ID ready to show when picking up your child(ren). We know we will have returning students and parent,s but when we have subs and new staff, they will ask for your ID. This is for your child's protection, thank you for your support on this.

We have a new change when signing in and out your child(ren). Parents will need to continue to add the time you sign in and out your child(ren) BUT you will also need to sign your initials as well. Inform your authorized persons picking up your child(ren) about our change.

Verifying Pick Ups-If we do not get a call, email, or note stating another person besides parents are not picking up, we will call to verify this. Please call the site number at 913.438.9650 if someone else is picking up your child(ren) so that our staff is informed and can attend to the kids.

Please remember to initial and time in and out your child(ren) daily.
