FYI:

We want to inform you that Mrs. Paige Fearnow, our Financial Secretary will be leaving Kersey Creek Elementary to join the Cold Harbor Elementary family as of Monday, April 24th, in the same role. We will miss her presence, knowledge and support around the Creek. Please join us in wishing Paige all the best during her transition.

We are excited to announce that our new Financial Secretary will be Mrs. Candace Thomas (currently our Library Assistant at KCES). Mrs. Thomas will begin her new role on Monday, April 24th. We appreciate your patience and support as Mrs. Thomas transitions to her new role.

Kindergarten Registration 2023-2024

We are now accepting kindergarten enrollments for the 2023-24 school year! Children must be five years old on or before September 30, 2023 to be eligible.

Parents and guardians may locate the school their child will attend at http://bit.ly/AttendanceZone. Please follow the steps outlined on the Student Enrollment webpage to enroll your child in kindergarten.

Please note that enrollment will not be considered complete until the in-person appointment takes place and the school registrar receives all necessary documentation required, including, but not limited to, a photo ID, an original birth certificate, and proof of residency.

Families of eligible kindergarten students are encouraged to enroll their child in kindergarten by June 1.

Thank you. We look forward to meeting the Class of 2036 soon!

Kersey Creek Scholastic Book Fair Guide

Kersey Creek Comets, the Scholastic Book Fair is back! Literacy is a priority at KCES, and book fairs are a terrific source for affordable, high interest books for our children. The money raised will allow our KCES Library to purchase more books and instructional materials for our students.

During the week of April 17th-21st your child will preview the book fair and create a wishlist. On April 26th we will have a family shopping night from 5:30-6:45 p.m. During the week of April 24th-28th students will have the opportunity to shop the book fair during their library time.

There are 3 ways to shop!

  1. Shopping Night: Join us on Wednesday 4/26 from 5:30-6:45 p.m. and shop as a family.

  2. Student Shopping: 4/24, 4/25, 4/26, 4/27, 4/28 during library class.

  • Give your child a safe, cashless way to shop the Book Fair with an eWallet. This digital payment option can be used at the in-school Book Fair or online at the Virtual Book Fair. Cash will also be accepted.

  • Visit https://www.scholastic.com/bf/kerseycreekelementaryschool to set up your child’s eWALLET account. Your child’s wish list may be helpful in determining a budget amount. Although we are unable to invite parents to the shopping experience during library we promise to help your child max out their checkout! Any ewallet balances under a dollar will be donated to the KCES library book fair fund.

Teacher Wishlists: Help Build Classroom Libraries

Each teacher has a wishlist basket of books located at the book fair. If you would like to help your teacher build their classroom library please select a book to purchase for their classroom. You can also set up an ewallet in their name.

Thank you for continuing to support our KCES readers,

Brooke Adams, School Librarian
